Bed & Breakfast Al Vicoletto - Rome
Outstanding5.0 / 5
When I booked the room I was certain that with the price we would end up in a crack house but instead the place was marvellous! The owner - an older Italian lady - came to open the door once we called her and she was very polite and helped with all the questions we had. The B&B is situated really close to Roma Trastevere train station and was very convenient. The lovely Trastevere old town is located apr 20 minutes walk away but there's a tram 8 to both Trastevere and city center. I would stay here again for sure!

Overall: Nice, little, kind woman who greeted us was just what you would want, having just got off a 12 hour flight, and waiting in customs for 2 hours (damn Italians! lol). She spoke enough English. It was a quick walk from Trestevre (closest train station)--quick note....walk up the street when you come to the restaurant at the bottom of the hill. Make sure you let them know you are coming, they may have to come down and meet you at the door--it locks...we got lucky, there was someone exiting the building and he spoke English...perfect. You may not be able to check in after hours...email them your arrival time. The Rooms and overall stay accommodations: Room/bathroom was the biggest we saw in Europe (besides a suite we payed for in Terricina). Shower was kinda small and a little cloggy--it seems no one in Europe uses drain-o. My fiance loved the breakfast in the morning, which is in the public area on the floor-a real kitchen with toaster, fridge, sink-and they serve all kinds of goodies. Biscuits (cookies), toast (with butter, jam), yogurt, tart, cereal, coffee (american), espresso, juice. It was very quite, eating there, relaxing. Very nice addition. Would stay there again, would recommend.

Very wall placed near railway and tramway station. 5 minutes from center of Rome and 10mn from Vatican the woman in charge of the B&B is doing her best effort to make you "as at home"

I would highly recommend the Bed & Breakfast Al Vicoletto ! It has large rooms (only 2 of them), a nice breakfast from 8.30 - 10.30, the sheets and towles were changed ervery 3 days, it was near the St. Trastevere, the staff was very freindly. You have free Wifi, you can use the kitchen for cooking and leave your luggage on your last day. The only minus was that its very noisy in the morning when the breakfast is prepared, so its not really possible to sleep longer than 8:30.

We arrived later (flight delay), but the host has waited for us even after check-in time limit-we really appreciated this. The room has no carpet on the floor and you tend to walk between bedroom and bathroom without changing to slippers-the filth has been carried from one room to another. Also,no carpet in front of the shower-used a towel.Sheets and towels are being changed at every 3 days. he shower cabin was too small, not suitable for claustrophobs! Also, hot water comes very late-tip:turn the shower at maximum heat + flowing speed so that it can come quicker. Room was noisy (we chose the one with the private bath), as it was close to Viale de Trastevere and the traffic is intense. Moreover, the walls are extremely thin and we overheard the upstair's neighbour phone conversations but also her cancerous coughing in the night - very creepy!! The breakfast was ok, consisting of bread, jam, croissant and coffee. We are used to eat more on breakfast, so we bought some extra food from Spar, which is located in the Trastevere train station, and stored it in the fridge. You have the possibility to eat at noon or dinner, as you can prepare some sandwiches in the open kitchen. Unfortunately, we didn't have the necessary accesories to heat prepared food, this is why you couls only eat sandwiches.Credit card payment: no.Hair dryer: there are 3-4 hair dryers stored in the kirchen's counter. Transport: tram 8 drives you to the center; no metro nearby! Host: ok, except when she has all rooms booked; she asked my boyfriend to free the table - although he still had some tea left to drink - so that others can come and eat. Rude, but maybe she didn't want it to sound so, as she speaks only Italian, a bit of French and bad English. She has repaired this mistake by letting us keep the luggage in the room until our flight time. Check-out time was at 10 am and our flight was at 7pm. She confidently left us the keys until 4pm. Overall: would recommend it for a shrt stay.
