Tumon Bay Capital Hotel - Tamuning
Good3.0 / 5
The price is quite right for the accommodation. If I was looking for a 5-Star hotel, Capital won't be on my list: Air con ineffective, tiles to balcony floor crumbles to small pieces making the sliding door to the balcony difficult to slide in place, not to mention the broken sliding door handle. Had to change rooms 3 different times upon checking-in for various reasons: 1) AC not working, 2) shower-drainage extremely slow, if draining at all. The location is rather ideal. Situated almost on hilltop overlooking Tumon city and beach/water areas. Very nice location, I'd say from the begining. Now, however, new development in the form of bigger and taller hotels are negatively affecting this view. If one's looking for just an over-night sleep (especially for those of you who live on airbuses, etc.,) this may do. Maintenance, in my view is one of the major problems. Swimming pool appeared to have created "under-water-life" forms based on 7th Floor view in terms of colorization. 3 very different personalities became apparent from the workers during a week's observation: very nice, very "GO", and very incompetent. One of the two receptionists appears to be a pure receptionist (very friendly manner, working with customers with smile, info, and suggestions readily availabe, and when she doesn't have the the answers she'd tell you so, indicating too, she'd find it and get back to you ASAP plus she follows through). That's the very nice one. The other was an "all-around" receptionist? She's more of an aircon technician than a receptionist. That's the "GO" one. (By the way, "GO" is a Yapese word for "go-omnang"(GO) meaning absolute knowledge of totality: Totality meaning EVERYTHING. And we all know, of course, what "everything" means. Yapese do apply this termenalagy to character sarcastically to imply that such a charecter pretends and acts to know everything there is to know about anything when, in fact, such a character knows nothing about anything at all!
