my second visit to this hotel.the decor is fresh and atmospheric, the staff friendly and helpful, and the food is very satisfying.and I will definately use this place again, and would have no hesitation in advising friends to use it.I suspect that the people that made the negative comments must have visited another establishment!!

Avoid Coleshill Hotel - hot, cramped & noisy
Coleshill Hotel has a large and noisy bar, which is open until 1.30am so beware people shouting on the street shouting at 2am. Room was clean but looked old. Boiling hot water pipes run through every room, which turn them into ovens. It is so hot - my room was 26c, it should be <18c. Summer must be unbearable here - they can’t turn the hot water off! So the choice is to sweat all night and not sleep OR open the windows to the drunks shouting and not sleep! In fact in room 10 where I stayed the windows were poorly fitted and would not close. Some window safety catches were missing or broken against H&S rules. Bedroom was clean but cramped with a sloped ceiling and odd furniture. Tea making facilities were on a tray at the bottom of the wardrobe. I had paid for 2 nights (£250 B&B which is way overpriced) but had to leave after 1 night because of the heat & noise – they would not refund the 2nd night. They said they have never had complaints about the rooms being hot before - don't believe them. They checked 3 other rooms for me and all 3 were the same stifling heat! Please speak up and let people know what this hotel is really like otherwise nothing will ever be done to improve it. The breakfast was OK and I found all staff to be friendly & polite, but offering a good night’s sleep is surely the most important thing & here they fail miserably. I will be lodging a formal ‘not fit for purpose’ complaint with Old English Inns, seeking a 1 night refund.
