The hotel it self was excellent and the staff very helpfull. It is clean and well kept. There was a huge choice of breakfast daily. The only down side is that it needs some modernisation. But overall l would recommend it.

nice little hotel, which has recently been taken over by a new owner, who is going to brush the hotel up.

PROS: Close to main square, polite and welcoming staff, cheap. CONS: Meager breakfast, noisy conditioner, absence of hot water, broken water tap, cupboard, bedside tables, beds. I would not recommend this hotel to any one, except teenagers who don't care about comfort at all.

My friend and me were staying at this hotel just two nights, but the time spent there was really good. "Apex" hotel is situated in perfect location. The most important objects of Istanbul you can reach by foot and it takes only 5-10 min. Aroud this hotel there are many caffes. Staff were also very kind and always ready to help us. It is true, that you can hear sounds from outside, especially in the praying time, but it makes to feel the spirit of this culture. All in all, this hotel is realy cheap, rooms are clean, beds are confortable and all stuff very helpful. We think it is enough for perfect holidays. We are expecting to come back to Istanbul in summer, so know we already know which hotel we will choose ;)

nice welcoming and helpful people. though the place was really in the most historic centre, you have to know that the Blue Mosque is behind the corner and at 4.45 there will be the calling for praying. from the biggest mosque i know. pretty disturbing at 5 o'clock in the morning. breakfast is super poor. there are some plates of food that i had no idea you could eat in the morning. then butter, feta, bread, eggs, and that's it. the first day they had marmalade, the day after we asked if we could have some, they said "finished" and that's it. the room was big enough, they gave us a family room (4 beds) and we were 3 people. they always helped us with our questions. the rooms were not soundproof, so you heard anytime if someone came back to the hotel. but overall, it was a good place to stay for poor students. it was easy to find, at night a good hood to walk around though we used taxi a lot at night. probably would try to find a place around Taksim if we decide to come again.
