The owners, Donatella and Sergio, were truly amazing. Very charming and helpful in every way. The house is very Tuscan, with wonderful artwork and books everywhere. The owners are very scholarly and told us many interesting stories about Florence and Italy. They helped us with the buses, taxis, restaurants and everything else we needed. Their home was lovely and very welcoming. When we couldn't find a taxi, they even offered to drive us in their own cars to the train station. Overall one of the best bed and breakfast we've ever stayed in.

I enjoyed throughly my extended stay at Villa Malavolta. The property is beautiful - I loved my room which had a huge terrace attached. Plenty of hot water in the shower and the bed was firm and very comfortable. The breakfast kitchen is rustic and cosy. The garden is simply stunning. There ire direct buses that run into the city frequently. It takes about 15 minutes on the bus to the city and costs 2 Euro for each trip when purchasing ticket on the bus. It is also convenient to catch a bus to Siena for a day trip from Villa Malavolta - 10 Euro each way. The villa is located in a quiet neighborhood - ideal if you are seeking peace and tranquility. What made my stay at Villa Malavolta most memorable was Donatella and Sergio's hospitality. Donatella gave valuable information and tips on the list of things I had planned on covering while in Florence. Both Donatella and Sergio made me feel at home. I would definitely choose to stay at Villa Malavolta when I am in Florence next and I would highly recommend it to friends.

I was originally put off by the location but it is well worth the bus ride to wake up in such a tranquil location, the bus trip is simple and fairly quick. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful and our room had a small balcony which was a very welcome surprise. I would recommend this hotel to anyone as a very good value for the money and a very civilized way to see Florence.
