Viva Florence!
For the price, this was a great room ata great location. Shared the bathroom with others but having the shower in the room was a big plus. Clean and definitely comfortable beds!

Great stay. This is a one star hotel. no phone in the room, no television in the room, no internet/wi-fi in the room, all bliss to me! If you want any of these then don't book Hotel Bavaria. If you don't want these, then this is the place for you. Quiet, clean and fabulous value for money. Great location. Internet in the breakfast area. I would certainly book again. It's on the 2nd and 3rd floors, no lift so not great if you don't like or want to climb stairs. We had a huge room which could sleep 4. No view except the inner courtyard, other rooms do have views I think. Great value for money and no need for a taxi from the station, just a 10 minute walk. Reasonable breakfast, can't fault the hotel at all.

We read the comments about no air conditioning and thought we would be ok, we melted! Do not stay during the hot summer months! However price was good, old building with character but needs renovating.

After 24hrs of flights to Firenze, the midnight welcome from the friendly, easy-going host was perfect, as was the incredibly spacious room and the spectacular building! Breakfast was extremely generous (amply fuelled our ever-hungry teenagers!) and the location is both safe & central. Would highly recommend here.

Florence is quite arguably one of the finest cities in the world. Because of this, we wanted a place to stay that was centrally located for exploration. Based on location, reviews, price, and availability, we selected Hotel Bavaria for our stay. We arrived by train from Milan and walked from the train station to the hotel. On the way we passed the Duomo (just a couple of minutes away from Bavaria.) The street names, etc, can make the navigation confusing, but we had no trouble locating it. We should begin by saying that this establishment is in an extraordinary old building. There are steps off a quaint street, and a few flights to reach the door to the hotel. For us, the steps did not take our breath away nearly as much as the experience, once inside. The staff was friendly and courteous. We climbed another short flight to the suite where our rooms were located. We entered through an ancient door into a huge palatial room that may have once served as a (somewhat) royal dining/common room. The enormity of the room was accentuated by the height of the ceiling and the ancient timber beams of the ceiling. The furniture had a history of its own. The room that my wife and I had (a double) was off a side corridor, and was ample and clean. But the grand room that my brother and his family had (four people) was like a guest suite in an ancient palace. It was nearly as large as the common room, had even more intriguing furniture, and the ceilings were just as high. The window looked out onto the main little street, and we opened the shutters to hear live classical music coming from the street below. The room had a small ensuite shower (ours had no bath facilities.) We had a great wine/cheese/prosciutto party at the window area for our first evening. Just off the common room was a door leading into the shared bathroom with shower. This is the only bathroom for that floor, so planning ahead for bathroom needs is a good idea. We had no problem. The following morning, at breakfa
