Excellent4.0 / 5
The first triple room we had was very poor. There were almost no accessible outlets. The bathroom door didn't close because the door frame had been broken where the door was supposed to latch. The toilet, when flushed, wouldn't stop running. When we went downstairs to complain, however, the person at the desk was very helpful, setting us up with a new room and free breakfast. The breakfast is not worth the cost (7 euro per person), but for free it was fine (the milk was warm, there were flies all over the uncovered bread). Our new room was much better, and overall, saved our stay at Bristol from being a disaster.

Room 208 has just been refurbished, lovely flooring, Italian shower and air con (working). Breakfast was perfect. Location is perfect for cultural visits, shopping and restaurants and bars.

Room 103 – avoid at all costs. We have been given this room for handicapped people - although both my husband and myself are perfectly fit. We assumed hotel was full. The corridor was crammed with laundry and big cleaning trolleys. We would later learn that this is "normal". Room is big, but not comfortable. Equipment falling into pieces. A broken and wobbly desk in the room with cattle that only works if you keep the button pressed. 2 tiny plastic cups - but I found a large stock on the trolleys outside the door. Large bathroom (wet-shower) but not one single shelf to put your toiletries on. Bags on the floor. While preparing for the night we have discovered that the tap was coming off the sink, so every time we needed water we had to hold the tap in place while pulling up the lever. During the night the plastic screws of the toilet seat came loose and I almost tested the temperature of the water in the bowl. Hurt my leg, as toilet is quite high. While having morning shower, we have discovered that the shower rail is barely fixed to the wall. No shower curtain and the drainage not working properly, the bathroom was flooded in no time. Reception manager in the morning has met our complaints with a very superior and aggressive attitude- "nobody has ever complained about this room before" and "this was fine until now". He was very clearly insinuating that all was perfect before us. We are a 50+ couple and my husband is Teetotal. My French is decent, having lived in France for 20 years, so nothing was lost in translation. To support his “all was perfect before you” position, manager has brought in some cleaning staff. Unfortunately, staff confirmed that the problems had long been logged in the books. If you decide to stay here, ask for a room at the back. Pedestrian street very noisy, bars and clubs open until early morning. When clubbers went home, the cleaning machines replaced them. Exhausting night.
