I loved my stay! The view from my room was awesome, everything I wanted- view of ferris wheel, Notre Dame on the hill across the port. There was construction in front of the hotel when I visited and hotel restaurant was closed, but there were so many good restaurants nearby, it did not matter. The breakfast was well worth the 18E- lots of variety, hearty and complete. Again the room was beautifully appointed and the view of the harbor spectacular! I'd definitely stay here again!

Marseille is an often under-rated and slightly overlooked city but a few days stay at the Hotel Residence will do a lot to dispel this impression. The hotel is clean, smart and comfortable and the views of the old port from the balconies are fabulous - what a view to wake up to each morning. The ferries to the islands and boat trips to the calanques are on the doorstep and the new museum complex at Fort St. Jean is only a short walk away as is the Musee Regards de Provence, a must for art lovers. There are plenty of good restaurants in the vicinity catering to all tastes and pockets.
