Unhelpful staff
I arrived at the Celtic Lodge from the airport at approx. 8am. on a Sunday which I know is early and so left my bag in the lobby until I could check in later. "Later" meant 3pm and, unlike similar experiences elsewhere, this hotel was totally unyielding. I came back at 1pm, then again at 2:30pm, and they absolutely wouldn't give an inch... 3pm meant 3pm. This, despite the fact that the hotel didn't look particularly busy... the whole time I spent at the desk pleading for my room I didn't see one person pass through the lobby. Meantime, while tired from an overseas flight, I just had to hoof it through city streets, making the best of my time sightseeing, for 7 hours until they let me into the room. I travel a lot and early arrivals are nothing unusual, but I never encountered an experience like this where the hotel was so ridiculously unyielding about their check-in policy.

Stayed here for one night. Room was clean and comfortable, ensuite was a little cramped but clean. Didn't have breakfast so I can't comment on that. Overall I thought at €103 it was a bit overpriced even for a bank holiday wknd.

Enjoyable stay in Dublin
Booked this hotel at the last minute and it suited my needs perfectly. Great city centre location and staff were more than helpful. Breakfast the next morning was delicious and reasonably priced.
