All the staff are lovely and (mostly) efficient. For a superior room the room was small. We had to place an armchair in front of the wardrobe to enable access to one of the twin beds.Disappointing that the hotel provides cheap disposable plastic cups in the bathroom. For a 4* establishment I do not consider this acceptable. There was only a shower which was small. The shower surround is made of cheap flimsy plastic that does not contain all the water so subsequently leaks.

We stayed here for 5 nights on the recommendation of friends. The hotel is nicely furnished with period furniture, our room was spacious and very quiet. Location is good, very close to a metro station, and walking distance to Vatican and Piazza del Popolo. They provided an extensive breakfast buffet. Our only criticism would be there are no tea/ coffee making facilities; you can order and pay for them.

Lovely hotel tucked away on quiet residential street, just a short 2-block walk to the Metro and bus lines. Upon arrival, we were upgraded to a lovely room with patio, although we didn't get to use it as it poured the entire five days of our stay! Very helpful staff with wonderful dining suggestions for local, family-owned establishments. Excellent full breakfast on enclosed rooftop patio, overseen by friendly and helpful staff. Public areas are small but we were usually out all day sightseeing. The shower (no tub in our room) was a bit small but everything was spotless. Loved our stay.

We chose to stay in the Hotel Farnese based upon Venere and Tripadvisor reviews and other research. It was our honeymoon so we did want something a little special. We were not disappointed. Prior to our arrival I was in touch with Andrea, one of the front office staff, who organised our airport transfers and a bottle of chilled Prosecco when we checked in. Our room was ready when we first arrived, and was just the job. We were on the fourth floor, just by the lift - I feared it might be noisy, particularly since said lift had a video on loop that had Andrea Bochelli warbling his best at all hours - but far from it. Our room was spacious, clean and well-appointed with a bedroom, lounge and well-equipped bathroom. The beds were twin, pushed together and made up into a double, but that is a minor detail. The hotel has no bar or restaurant as such, but it does have a very pleasant rooftop terrace for breakfast. It can be opened up or sealed from the elements and provides a good view out over the rooftops of Rome, including the dome of St Peters in the near distance. The Hotel Farnese is just a few yards from the Lepanto metro station, and a short walk from restaurants and bars in the evening. During our stay, Andrea also organised a tour of the Vatican - one guide for just the two of us - which is highly recommended if you want to make sense of the place. Our only very minor gripe - the water was tepid on the first evening, making showering unpleasant - was sorted by the following morning. Overall therefore a very pleasant stay. Our expectations were high, and we were not let down. We would stay again, without hesitation - there is so much more of Rome to enjoy!

It was our second stay in Farnese hotel. We would go again.. We like the area, close to the center but still authentic and quiet. The room was quiet and immaculate, although the bathroom was a bit on the tiny side. The staff is exceptionnaly efficient and welcoming, especially Gabriela at breakfast, and Andrea at the reception desk. Great hotel!!!
