Hotel and rooms are slightly tired but that said, the room was clean and very quiet, the breakfast was great and the staff were very helpful.

Good except for taking a curtain rail to the face
Imagine waking up early on a sunny June day. Eager to being my day I went to the window and went to open the curtains so I could enjoy the sunshine. However, instead of being greeted by sunny vistas I instead was welcomed by a flash of light and excruciating pain on my face. The entire curtain rail had fallen off the wall. Closer inspection revealed that screws were missing from the fixture and when I opened it the remaining screws gave way dropping the heavy metal curtain rail on my face. The result of this was cuts and bruises to my nose. Not a great way to start the day. Staff were apologetic and I was offered a room upgrade for the following night and a bottle of wine to placate me. Otherwise the stay was quite pleasant. I understand that the hotel will be undergoing refurbishment soon so perhaps problems such as these wont happen again. Breakfast was good.
