The website said there would be WiFi, but it really only worked in the public areas, not in the room. There was only cold water in the shower and the room was not properly vacuumed. It was not easy to find this place, since it's not near the city center, but once I found the university area, it was easy to find the right building, thanks to signs and helpful passer-bys. I also felt very safe in this area. Some of the staff was very nice and helpful. It was quite noisy at nights, but usually the noise stopped some time before midnight. Not the best place I've stayed in, but worth of the money though, since the rooms were relatively cheap.

This was the first time we've been to Dublin. My recomendation is to find yourself enough information how the public transport works. See www.dublinbus.ie and www.leapcard.ie. There are no usable maps of bus lines and no downloadable timetables. There's no information on lots of bus stops at all. You can use onboard wifi - once you catch the bus or train (DART). Beware that you need to present your leapcard while leaving the station - otherwise you will be charged the maximum fare (4.60 in 08/14). You can't use one leap for more than one person. Also note that the DCU summer accomodation reception (Accomodation and Sports Club Reception is what you're looking for) is placed near by the North-East corner of the park and NuBar which is not 100% clear, but it's quite nice walkaround through all the campus folowing the signs. You can get cheap and good breakfast in 1838 restaurant if you don't have it included. It was very nice stay.

I only spent a single night at DCU to travel further the next day. If I were to visit Dublin, I would pick a different place to stay because it is not close to the city centre. There is also a 20 min walk to the nearest bus. The surroundings of DCU are not that nice, just streets and houses.
