Palazzo Was Perfecto!!
Perfect for the perfect short trip to Venice. 50m from St Marks Square. Lovely rooms and a reasonable price given the location. We have read people complaining about the check in/out (which is done at the Monaco & Grand 50m away) but we knew that and the staff were helpful, porters took bags etc. We were stranded due to fog and the Monaco booked us one extra night at an emergency rate, then moved us back to the Plalazzo for the 2nd night. No one in customer service is over friendly, bear that in mind, but the staff did everthing to help us. The only minor issue, because there is no restaurant in the Palazzo, they provide tea & coffee facilities, but no milk. Try and find milk in Venice!! It's a little thing but for UK & USA guests, I think it's important. Overall though I will use thge Palazzo every time I go back, it is perfect if you don't have limitless funds.

Scam Hotel - Not a Palace and not a 4 star hotel
This is a scam hotel. It calls itself the Palazzo.. whatever. Well I didnt understand where the Palazzo was. It says it was 4 stars when I booked. But it was 2 stars at best. I arrived and I was told I was staying at the Annex. I kept asking where the real hotel was. I was firmly and rudly directed to the REAL hotel when I tried to chek out and missed my flight. The receptionist took me outside and told me i had to pay the 4.50 Euro city tax and that I had to pay it at the "Monte Carlo Hotel" . The receptionist left his post and walked me 5 minutes to a different hotel. I was told to wait inline. I did so and waited for 15 minutes. I was asked to give 4.50 or they threatened to charge my credit card on record. I Paid it and they gave me a receipt from a hotel with a different name. Why could I not have paid that amount at the original supposed hotel.

Great place with irritating staff
Really liked the place, great location, very nice room. Would recommend it fully, BUT be prepared to meet a rather rude and unpolite receptionist at the Selvadego, who doesn't trust you to do your check out properly at the near by Monaco and insist to send a porter with you to make sure you are not sneaking away (besides the fact that my room was prepaid ...). I've travelled the world but that has never happened to me. My feedback: rather irritating and quite inappropriate for this place.
