I stayed here for here for 6 nights in a Junior Suite in August 2014. It’s not the cheapest hotel in town, but not the most expensive either. Very centrally situated, one road to the side of the main route from Charles Bridge to the Cathedral, which is nice. Not so nice is the fact that it’s 3 doors down from the US embassy, so you can’t actually drive down the road in front of the hotel without being forced to turn around by the crowd of police in front of the embassy. That, plus the chronic parking problem in Prague, makes the hotel basically inaccessible by private car, so use the tram, taxi or the hotel’s excellent car service from the airport. Or walk, you can walk anywhere you need to go in Prague. It’s a boutique hotel, with a music theme (each room celebrates a different composer), but with a large number of Dali and Chagall prints on the main floor, as if they couldn’t quite decide. Plus other unrelated statuettes and bits of art. Very helpful and attentive staff, who make a point of remembering your foibles, such as what language they should use with you (the default seems to be English). Attentive to the point that at whatever time I went down for breakfast, my room had been cleaned by the time I returned. Attentive so that when they noticed I drank both bottles of water, they started leaving more. The rooftop restaurant/bar has a nice view of the Prague rooftops, plus an interesting view of whatever plants the locals are growing on their balconies. The main floor restaurant has the first breakfast bar I’ve seen that offers Champagne as an option, alongside the fruit juices. The concierge consists of a room with the full Groves encyclopaedia of music, plus a vast number of CDs of pre-1980s music which you can borrow or enjoy in the adjacent listening room. Manned by a very knowledgeable lady. No need to go out and listen to the live musical recitals that are played in almost every church, almost every evening. Lots of attention to de
