Disappointing
This is a copy of the complaint which I sent to the hotel several days ago. I’m compelled to write to you as I have already given feedback orally to your staff when I checked out; and I have completed your online questionnaire but to no avail. So for the third time I will detail the feedback on my stay. My son and I arrived on Monday the 8th August 2016 we were allocated room 1222; the carpet in the room was appalling, there were large black stains which looked like ink on the carpet in several places; the front of the bedside cabinet kept dropping off and the net curtains were old and grey giving an altogether dingy appearance. We were tired, we unpacked and headed out. The following day we had a trip arranged straight after breakfast, at this point it was hardly worth asking for a room change as we were checking out on the 12th. We put up with it, it didn’t ruin our stay we came to see Amsterdam not the hotel. Still I really do not think we were accommodated in a 4 star room. When we were checking out Kristina (I think this was her name) said that she was sorry and that we could have changed rooms. And that is it, an apology was all that we received for being accommodated in a sub-standard room. My question to you is why on earth would you put guests into a room which was sub-standard? As a guest I should not be in a position where I have to ask for a room change, the room should not have been used until the carpet and curtains had been changed.
4 night family trip
