TERRIBLE STAY THAT RUINED OUR IMPRSSION OF TOKYO!!
HORRIBLE SERVICE, CONCIERGE AND ATTENTION. IT WAS LIKE WE WEREN'T EVEN STAYING THERE AND THEY WERE JUST TAKING OUR MONEY FOR A ROOM. WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE FROM THE U.S. SHAME ON VENERE AND TRIPADVISOR!

Terribly Disappointing!
Terribly disappointing! That worst of the hotel experiences we had during our 16 days in China, Hong Kong and Japan. A lack of service and attentiveness to foreign guests was the biggest issue. This is apparently a business hotel geared more to locals than foreigners. Understanding english is apparently not part of the staff training, and getting directions and assistance from the concierge became so time consuming that it was not worth the effort. The rooms were also tired and not as depicted on line. Think carefully about this one!

This was a great hotel for a stay in Shibuya. High quality rooms, comfortable beds and pillows. Very large room for Tokyo. I found the service to be a bit impersonal and cold. There was a high price to use the wifi in your room and also the pool. If I stayed in Shibuya again I would most likely prefer a hotel a bit closer to the scramble where all the shops and restaurants are. Overall though a good hotel for the money paid. Beware though our friends had coffee in the lobby restaurant and said it was terrible quality and way overpriced.

Very good, with minor annoyances
Barring a couple of minor annoyances, this is was a lovely stay. We had a week-long stay at the Cerulean in Shibuya. Our room was huge by Japan standards, and even had a small walk-in closet. We had wonderful views over Tokyo, and the location, 5 minutes walk from Shibuya station, was convenient. We used the fitness studio and swimming pool, both of which were of high standard. Having a 7/11 store in the building was useful. The staff were highly professional, friendly and attentive, apart from one incident which I'll describe below. There were a couple of annoyances during our stay. Firstly, we had a mini bar item wrongly added to our bill at check out. Housekeeping probably made an honest mistake, likely because we moved some items out of the fridge in order to fit in our own. This was an understandable human mistake. The problem was with the attitude of the staffer at check out, who acted as if we were trying to get away with theft; checking and double checking our story, and not offering an apology for the mistake the hotel had made. Secondly, while the lobby and room were in good condition, the hallways were in desperate need of refurbishment. The wall and floor coverings are faded, and an unpleasant musky odour permeates the corridors.
