We had a lovely time at Martin's Brugge
A friend and I flew in from the US for a whirlwind trip to Brussels, Bruges, and Ghent - one day each town - and we loved Bruges best, staying two nights at Martin's Brugge. The location and price couldn't be beat - the room was comfortable, bright, quiet, and clean. Would definitely stay there again, would definitely recommend it to friends!

Wonderful staff!
Our son fell ill the night before we were to leave Brugges and we needed to spend another night at the hotel. Even though the hotel was booked solid, the staff figured out a way for us to spend another night in our same room. We were really grateful we didn't have to move! Very friendly and courteous staff!

THis is a great hotel due to location, superior breakfast and room comfort. My daughter and I certainly hope we can return next year. Only suggestion is for the staff at the front desk to have accurate information about train schedule. We were told the train leaves for Brussels twice and hour but actually it is only once an hour. However, we were able to make it ok just in time. Another staff person recommended a great restaurant for traditional F;emmish food which we truly enjoyed. The experience in Brugge was great and Martin's helped make a great trip.

We had a double room with ample space for two. When having a weekend away I don't the think the room should be a priority other than the cleanliness and comfort of the bed. Both were suitable for our needs. We spent very little time at the hotel other than for sleeping. The small downside was that the shower bay (room 146) was not suitable for the strength of water flow (which was excellent by the way). It meant that the bathroom got flooded each time the shower was used. The water was also slow to drain away in both the shower and sink. Other than that it was the perfect location for all that Bruges has to offer. Warm & friendly staff made our stay pleasurable. If you are looking for a hotel with a buzzing bar this is not for you but was acceptable for a pre and post evening drink. Lastly I did think the price was a little high for the amenities on offer but I guess you do pay for the ideal location. NB: We didn't eat at the hotel at all so can't comment.

The hotel is conveniently located directly behind the Belfort, just south of the Markt. In the lobby, the wifi connection was suitable, but in our room it was either too slow to be used, or the connection could not be detected. The room was clean, but cramped and dark (more reason to explore the city). It was a pleasant stay, but not so great value.
