Trinity Hotel - high price for the amazing locatio
The Trinity was the most expensive of all hotels we selected during our 3 week European vacation (other locations included Paris and London). The location is by far the best thing about the Trinity. It's absolutely in the center of everything. It's very expensive, the rooms are small as you expect in European hotels & everything is an additional charge for services. For example, you pay for parking the car & service to retrieve it was slow- 30 minutes the last day there. Internet/wife is fairly spotty. Elevator service is slow & small. The hotel doesn't offer air conditioning in all rooms or on all floors. The weather was mild when we checked in so we planned to sleep with windows open to keep the room cool. Unfortunately the hotel is adjacent to a fire station! There is various loud noises, alarms, megaphone noises all day. The noise level really negates many aspects of the hotel. Again, the location is 5 star but you pay a lot for the convenient location. There was a glitch at check in. The front desk gave us keys to the wrong room. We startled an occupant & it took 15 minutes or more to get the right key & get into our assigned room. Our check in day was the first of two Bruce Springsteen concerts in Dublin, the hotel was full. It's possible this contributed to the confusion. The staff was responsive to the error but didn't follow up with anything to off set their error. or 'fridge available.

Had noisy neighbours - watching TV until late on one side and speaking loudly on the other side which disturbed our sleep. Breakfast was excellent and good value for money, but dinner menu was disappointing, although well cooked and presented

Lovely, stylishly decorated hotel – also with spacious courtyard seating for smokers ;-)) Staff very friendly and polite. I was in what I suppose was a standard twin "Courtyard" room – very pleasant; very comfortable beds; A couple of minor quibbles: the room lighting – and indeed the lighting in the hotel lounge area – was very dim. The bathroom was well-lit but the main room would have benefited from some stronger/perhaps adjustable lighting. I didn't like the fact that there was no toilet brush provided. Finally, the courtyard view was most unimpressive – overlooking the dumpsters. But these are small issues. I would most certainly stay here again as the location is absolutely excellent for both sides of the river – just a couple of minutes' walk to Grafton Street on the south side and the quays, the Liffey and the north side of the river are just a few minutes away in the opposite direction.
