Spectacular but old and tired
We stayed for 4 nights and enjoyed the walk to the French Quarter and the Riverside. It was convenient for the trolley and the Hop-on-hop-off bus. The hotel itself is a bit old and tired. The shower was not easy to use and didn't have much water flow. We had to ask several times for glasses and towels to be replaced. The cleaning was a bit slap-dash. The reception staff were friendly and helpful as was the doorman but the bar staff were not. It is in a good spot but I would not recommend this hotel until it has been refurbished.

Reservation Disaster
Hotel is nice enough, some rooms are nicer than others. My 18 year-olds room was nicer, and cooler, than mine, except for the wiring problems...read on. Our problems started at check-in (got there about 4:30, check-in time stated as 3:00). Told we were about 25 rooms down in "the que". Took my number and said they would call me! Nope, about an hour later I went to desk, was told one of my two rooms was ready, but no idea when on the other (supposed to be connected, but told that wouldn't happen, even tho the room that WAS ready was a connecting room, they had put someone else in the adjoining room!!). Long story short, at 1130pm that night our other room was ready, ON A DIFFERENT FLOOR!! And the bathroom light wouldn't work, we were told not "to be flicking the switches because something may happen" OMG, REALLY??? Yes really. And then I had a bill for BOTH ROOMS the next morning! ! The manager Jessica was great and removed all charges for the second room, even room service breakfast for 2. I was ready to go to the management company if they would have charged me...and believe me, the review would have been all "0's" if I was made to pay for that second room! BTW the breakfast is REALLY good between 4 of us we had omlets, waffles, pancakes, fruit, it was all wonderful!!

Baby's 1st Birthday
We went for our baby's 1 year old birthday. So fun!! The Jazz brunch on Sunday is totally worth it. The pianist played great songs and they started a Second Line t/o the restaurant with our little one leading. The roof top view is nice and the pool looked great. The night time sandwich bar was an awesome treat!
