You’ve been asking…

What activities are there to do in the area?

The region of Val di Chiana in Italy is home to a number of unique destinations, but perhaps the most exciting of all is Castiglion Fiorentino. The former Etruscan settlement boasts an ancient castle called Torre del Cassero as well as medieval city walls. Every year, there is a horse race called Palio dei Rioni that gets held right in the center of town.

In the medieval town of Lucignano, visitors can take traditional Italian cooking courses at the Trattoria Da Toto, embark on the guided walking tour that starts in the Piazza San Francesco or view the relics and artifacts in the Museo Communale.

Insider Tip: Every spring, visitors can watch jousting in Cortona.
