Venezuelans are a warm and friendly people so you should get on great here. Always have a few Spanish phrases handy. When meeting a local, shake hands firmly, smile and maintain eye contact. Always utter the greeting for the time of day - "Buenos dias" for "good morning" and so on. If you are meeting a group, start by greeting the oldest person. If arranging a dinner, arrive 15 to 30 minutes late. This is because arriving on time or early denotes you as greedy. Smart casual dress is the order of the day when dining.
